Fornalutx is located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, proclaimed a World Heritage by UNESCO in the category of Cultural Landscapes. Located in the northeast of Mallorca, Fornalutx is popular with hikers, cyclists and bikers for its pefect conditions for scaling and mountaineering. Here you can enjoy the curves offered by the town’s roads, which run towards the entire Mallorcan mountain range.
Explore the village
The simple fact of walking through its streets will already be a delight for your eyes and for your mind . In fact, it is the way to get to know Fornalutx. Here you can stroll peacefully and let yourself go to discover corners full of charm. Its narrow, cobbled streets and stone architecture will leave you inspired, with Fornalutx being one of the few places on the island where typical houses of the Mallorcan mountain are preserved. In addition, by exploring the charming town you can discover its beautiful church, in which Gothic and Baroque features merge.
Besides visiting the town and discovering its streets, there are some marked routes for those who love hiking. From the village you can make several interesting routes and excursions, including from Sóller to Fornalutx, through the viewpoint of Ses Barques, El Camí de Sa Figuera, La Volta dels Pobles de la Vall and the Commune of Fornalutx.
For this reason Fornalutx is an excellent starting point to explore the mountains and enjoy all the natural and scenic richness that it contains. Both on foot and by mountain bike, you can do it on your own by following marked trails, or take advantage of some of the guided tours that are on offer.
Soller is only 7 kilometres away which is a popular destination to soak up authentic Mallorcan life, with its beach being particularly splendid. Deià is also very close and stands as another of the most beautiful villages of the Sierra de Tramontana. Bunyola is known for its slopes, with areas that can reach up to 1000 meters high. In addition, Alaro is also in close proximity and boasts spectacular mountainous terrain with a typically modern urban centre.

Fornalutx’s gastronomic offer is very rich and varied with both international, Mediterranean and local cuisines in offer. It is well recommended to visit a restaurant that serves typical Mallorcan cuisine, where you can savour an emblematic setting whilst sampling on some delicious plates.
